Monstera ‘Split Leaf’
AKA Monstera deliciosa this plant is widely known for its large striking leaves that have deep cuts in them. Cool thing about this plant is that the leaves start out in a solid heart shape, then start to split as it ages to allow filtered light and rain to the newer leaves and roots towards the bottom. Freaking Amazing!
This plant prefers warm temperatures and medium to higher humidity levels. However, it is pretty tolerant of a wide range of conditions once you acclimate it. Frost will kill them, and in temperatures below 50 degrees they will not grow.
Water every 1 to 2 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out in-between waterings slightly. Brighter and warmer conditions may require more waterings, and less waterings in lower lighted rooms or areas. Prefers bright indirect light but can handle partial light outdoors as well, just acclimate it first.
Keep them in a rich soil mix, with ample room in the pot for thier roots to promote large leaf growth.
