Description

Native to Japan and China, this small hardwood Japanese Hornbeam ("Carpinus Laxiflora") is a distinguished looking tree with drooping branches and drooping clusters of hop-like fruits.

This bonsai has quite striking bark patterns, and the scarcity of the seeds makes it rare in bonsai.

It has a smooth grey-beige trunk, and small glossy leaves.

As a deciduous bonsai tree, it should be kept outdoors.
